what we do and why

We are a woman owned, regenerative family farm, building our dream life and pursuing our passionate mission - reacquainting people with loving themselves and each other by reconnecting them to the land, plants & animals that sustain them.

But on a deeper level, we are simply a great American love story. At the Loving Ewe, we believe you can best love your life and those in it, when you begin to love & appreciate yourself first. We found that by restoring natural elements of our daily lives and reconnecting to a lifestyle of using our own hands to create, cook and build the things we need- we become better at loving ourselves and loving each other.  We come to appreciate our minds and bodies and create a deep connection to the people, plants and animals that sustain us. We are filling our own tank, so we can better love and respect that which sustains us. At Loving Ewe Farm & Ranch, we believe that when you get back to loving you (and ewe) and reconnecting to the land, plants and animals that sustain us all, you awaken your best self.

Our Mission

At the Loving Ewe we want to nourish your soul and give you a taste of something that’s been missing: connection. Our mission is to connect you to the land, plants and animals that sustain you, by offering ethical, sustainable and truly beautiful choices in plants, flowers, food & events. Get back to loving you (and ewe).

Our Story

Loving Ewe Farm & Ranch: a great American love story.  About people who love each other and the planet. And sheep.

The recipe called for two dreamers, four kids, a dog, a bunny, two ewes, four goats, 9 chickens, one trip to Iceland, a dash of fate, a pinch of luck, and heaps of courage to launch the Loving Ewe Farm & Ranch.

It started with a sleepy sunrise conversation, dreams still lingering in the air, one dreamer asking the other, “If life was your dream right now, what would it look like?”

And in that answer everything changed. A farm, a ranch. A farm & ranch. With big skies and rolling hills, a place with heart and soul, that leaves you inspired & connected to everything and everyone around you. A place worthy of your dreams.

So the dream became an idea, the idea became a vision, the vision became a calling, and the calling spurred action.

The dreamers became doers. Soon they were busy building the foundation of Loving Ewe Farm even before they knew how to make it all possible. But once that sunrise awakening took place, there was no turning back. They saw their destiny unfold in their hearts and they knew the journey to creating their dream had already begun.

It really started in 1987, in a high school Spanish class. Two young students became great friends. And remained friends for 30 years. Until one day, the friendship and the dreams and the stars aligned.  They knew that it was much more than a hunch, with 4 kids, it was going to be more like a “bunch”. Burlap seemed fitting, given the dreams of building “a micro farm by the beach” so they joked about the “Burlap Bunch.” And then they got to work.

Every day they planned and plotted, driven by a passionate mission and vision. And every day they took little steps and summoned the courage to bring their love of plants, the planet, and each other to fruition.

Today, they are still taking brave steps, and doing the hard work, and summoning the courage every day. And every day the business and the farm and the ranch comes together a little bit more than the day before.

“They” are Mathew and Angela;  the dreamers, creators, and farmers of the Loving Ewe Farm & Ranch. They invite you to come get reacquainted with loving yourself, your life, your community and the people you care about.  Join them, learn something new, get inspired, get your hands dirty, get your heart involved, get back to loving you (and ewe). Get connected to the land, people, plants and animals that lift and sustain you.
